Thanks to Orlando Speed World Dragway, Carl, Betty, and Sherry will be updating gDR on a regular basis with compulink statisics. As of Friday Night, the Race Rock Cafe' cruise was one that was never before seen in this size and it was on to Friday Qualifying. Over 340 tech cards have been issued. With some minor setbacks with a few incidents, Qualifying was still running into midnight in Orlando.
On hand are 33 vendors, and this race has no sponsors. After talking with Carl this afternoon, He was adamant about keeping this an event solely out of his own pocket. Participation is overwhelming and they were looking for five rounds of qualifying, but may have do do with what they can get in today. Also spectators have risen considerably as this race progresses.
Orlando Speed World Super Pro Street Racers
When you enter the class of the Super Pro Outlaws, it's almost like walking into a Gladiator arena. Only the strongest will survive, tuning, all that power is just like fighting off the most untameable beast. Talking about this class leaves a lasting impression of the kinds of machines that run there, Screw Blowers, Twin Turbo's, 3 to 4 stages of nitrous is the norm for these guys shifting their way down the quarter mile with Lenco's and specialty transmissions. Being so fast and overpowerd you would think that consistency is a foregone conclusion. As you read the ladder results you'll see that these guys can tune and make it down the track with numbers that match oh so close to the last runs before. This is the Top Dog Class of all of "Heads Up" Street Racing, and Orlando has provided one of the finest shows for the fans.

Orlando Speed World Outlaw 10.5 Racers
Seems that consistancy and the will to survive the Ten Fives at Orlando would be the key points in winning this race. Many of the Sure Things went down by simple miscalculations or just being too heavy on the tune. It cost them big time and left the door open for some new faces to appear in the later rounds. There was no mistake as you can see by the numbers that everyone had their game faces on and were in focus.

Orlando Speed World Outlaw Drag Radial Racers
Putting it to the pavement is what the Drag Radial boys are all about, come out easy then nail the sucker. Big MPH, and some very quick ET's put a life into this class you will never see until you have watched them in person. The best part is the diversity of the cars, mountain big blocks and small turbos, with a mix of nitrous in there, the groove on the DR's are banging the track with tons of muscle.

Orlando Speed World Heavy Street Racers
One of my personal favorites in Orlandos horsepower show is the power to weight ratio rule of the Heavy Eliminator class. Cars that are so consistent they are pushing the limits of weight vs. cubic inches. This is the hotbed for the most radical street cars in the nation. Good on the tree and better at their driving abilities, they have the most high octane show of brute strength, character of cars and all out fun racing for the top dogs spot of True Street Cars.
