Maruti Suzuki is the most trusted brand in India since 1981. Originally the company was known as Maruti Udyog Limited. Suzuki Motor Corporation had about 54.2% stake in the company, and about 18.28% was held by the govt., however in 2007 the stake held by the Indian Govt. was given to some financial institutions post which the company got a new name, Maruti Suzuki India Limited.
